Matriarch Apostle Tina held a courtesy meeting on 25 August with the Ambassador of Angola to the United Kingdom, José Patrício, following a religious service programme with the Angolan community in London and Manchester.
During her visit to the United Kingdom, Apostle Tina also attended the 15th edition of the The Voice Achievers Awards 2026, where she was honoured with the The African Voice Award, in recognition of her significant religious and community work in Africa.
Apostle Tina was accompanied by Ricardo Teixeira, Secretary-General of CAARU – Confederation of Angolan Associations in the United Kingdom, who attended the meeting representing the President of CAARU, José Gomes (Utola).
During the meeting, Ricardo Teixeira conveyed a message from the CAARU President to Ambassador José Patrício, expressing the organisation’s recognition of the tangible impact of the Ambassador’s increased engagement with issues affecting the Angolan community in the United Kingdom. The message highlighted the importance of the Ambassador’s openness to dialogue, proximity to the community and attention to the concerns of Angolan citizens in the diaspora.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss several projects aimed at supporting the Angolan community in the United Kingdom, with particular emphasis on promoting patriotism and national identity, as well as creating opportunities for Angolan talent in the diaspora to contribute to the future of their homeland, Angola.
The CAARU Secretary-General reaffirmed the partnership between the Confederation and the pastoral mission led by Apostle Tina, particularly in developing initiatives focused on raising awareness of patriotism, civic values, the defence of the homeland and the recognition and promotion of Angolan talent in the diaspora.
Ambassador José Patrício, in turn, expressed his support for the partnership and the initiatives being developed, reaffirming the importance of projects that contribute to strengthening the Angolan community in the United Kingdom and building stronger links between the diaspora and Angola.
